Sunburn retracted the wire and pulled out a second one, chucking it in the direction of the couch.

"You passed out," he responded, glancing at the wire and pulling it back in. He took the pillow it’d grabbed, then gently lifted Shadow’s head and shoved the pillow under it. He pulled his hands away and stared at the left one; there was a gash across his palm from where it’d brushed against a quill.

Ignoring it for the moment, he looked back at Shadow. “Should I call a hospital?”

"No. No hospitals." Even the extreme case of his illness didn’t override his fear of needles and prodding and poking and cutting and-

He cut that thought down before it could continue.

"…Thanks."

Sunburn nodded. “You’re welcome.” He held his hand up and stared at it, turning it to keep the blood from dripping off.

"Is there anything else you need?" he asked, half-absentmindedly licking the wound.

Sunburn bolted down the hallway, skidding to a stop in front of what looked like the bathroom. That was a bathroom, right? He’d never been to one (magic anatomy!), but he’d heard about them. It looked like one. …Right?

Hoping he was right, he ran into the room, pulling the cabinet doors open and looking inside. There were all sorts of bottles and… other medicine-y thingies. His eyes narrowed in on one that looked pink, and he grabbed it and ran back down the hallway, stopping in front of Shadow.

Okay, so he’s unconscious. He knelt down, pulling a wire out of his PAK and putting the bottle in another compartment. You can handle this.

The end of the wire, shaped like a syringe, filled with the liquefied medicine.

"I hope this works…" he muttered under his breath, as he jabbed the needle into Shadow’s arm.

Shadow’s eyelids fluttered, and he let out a long, low groan. “What happened?” He blinked his eyes open, but pulling his head up required far too much energy and besides, the wood on the table was nice and cool against his cheek.

Sunburn walked in, looking around at the interior of the house. ”GUN? No, I’m not from there.” He stood still for a moment, then turned around. “Do you know where…”

He paused, trailing off, then took a few steps forward. “Is there anything I can get you? You look horrible.”

"Medicine. Bathroom down the hall. Cabinet. It’s pink." Not that it would help much. Shadow himself was practically a walking hospital, so if he couldn’t fight it off on his own, some stupid syrup wouldn’t help in the slightest.

It gave him at least the slightest illusion of control.

That was about when his head hit the table and the world faded to black.

Sunburn tucked his arms to his sides, holding his trenchcoat around him. “Not exactly. I came here with some other people, but I lost them and I need a place to stay for the night.”

Or for however long the roleplay lasts, he thought to himself.

He paused for a moment. “Is it alright if I come in?” he eventually asked.

"Fine." Shadow stumbled over to the table. "Don’t break anything." Normally, he’d ask more questions, but he was currently more preoccupied with staying conscious than anything.

"Are you from GUN?"

Sunburn walked in, looking around at the interior of the house. ”GUN? No, I’m not from there.” He stood still for a moment, then turned around. “Do you know where…”

Sunburn looked at the figure in the doorway. “I’m Sunburn,” he said. Admittedly, it probably sounded like a weird name for a human to have, but he didn’t mind that.

He narrowed his eyes and tilted his ENORMOUS head slightly, looking over Shadow. “Are you alright?”

"What do you think?" Shadow would have snapped the words, but they tumbled out more like a long sigh. His legs didn’t appreciate being forced to hold his weight, and he leaned against the doorframe, trying not to fall over. His vision was swimming and he tried not to gag. "Did someone- urp- send you?" He swallowed down something that tasted like the horrible bubblegum medicine he’d managed to keep down an hour ago.

Sunburn stood on the doorstep, glancing down the street. All the others had gone to a motel or a restaurant or a cosplay convention or a giant space station with a lizard’s ass fused to it or gm_construct or who-knows-where, and he’d been sent back here for… no real in-world reason other than the fourth-wall-breaking explanation of “why not?” and “THE ROLEPLAY MUST HAPPEN”.

He shivered, the cold night air being… well, cold, and he knocked on the door a second time.

Shadow wished he’d installed that speaker system Sonic had suggested. (Granted, Sonic had suggested it for pranking people who dropped by unexpectedly, and so he wouldn’t have to leave his room in midwinter, but still.) Groggily, he clutched the blankets around him and stumbled over to the door.

He squinted at the person. His vision was blurry, the wind outside (though light) hammering into his fur and sending chills up his spine.

He resisted the urge to throw up on the other’s shoes.

"Who’re you?"

Sunburn looked at the figure in the doorway. “I’m Sunburn,” he said. Admittedly, it probably sounded like a weird name for a human to have, but he didn’t mind that.

Shadow shuddered under several layers of blankets, squeezing his eyes shut. Even that small action had his head spinning, and dull reds and grays danced on the insides of his eyelids.

All of his senses her on hyper-alert, so when someone or something plodded up to his front door, it sounded in his ears like gunshots. He burrowed further under the blankets, fighting back bile that tried to force its way up his throat.

He couldn’t even manage a weak ‘hello’ when that someone knocked on the door.

I have a feeling that putting off making one of those ‘personal’ blogs will eventually lead to this blog getting kind of awkward from an askblog standpoint, so I went ahead and made a sideblog for…would it be called the mod? You know, the person who runs an askblog and does all the art/scripting?

Awkward meta aside, I…still haven’t started on any new asks yet. Real-life things are getting in the way, sorry!

I think I remember this one wiki saying that it's because Meph's model was incomplete. I'm not sure if that's the actual reason why, but it's possible, I guess?

The wiki also said that’s why the edges of his mouth were jagged. It’s hard to notice, but it kind of looks like this:

Do you mean his cheeks or something? Because his model
literally does not have a mouth
, so it can’t be jagged.

Yeah, I meant the cheeks. Sorry, slip of the…keyboard?
